PMU & TATTOO LASER REMOVAL

Safe & Professional PMU and small body tattoo Removal with Emily at The Brow Haus & Co. In Poole, Dorset

Whether you're looking to remove unwanted Permanent Makeup (PMU), lighten previous work before a new treatment, or fade a body tattoo, laser tattoo removal offers a safe and effective way to reduce unwanted pigment over time. At The Brow Haus & Co., Emily uses advanced Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser technology to treat eyebrow tattoos, lip blush, eyeliner, and selected body tattoos. Every treatment is tailored to the individual, with your skin health and long-term results always taking priority. No two tattoos are the same. The previous pigment used, how deep it was implanted, its age and your body's natural healing response all influence how your tattoo will respond to treatment. This is why every client begins with a comprehensive consultation before any treatment is carried out.

WHAT CAN LASER TATTOO REMOVAL TREAT?

Laser removal may be suitable for:

✔ Eyebrow Permanent Makeup (Microblading, Powder Brows & Machine Brows)

✔ Lip Blush & Lip Tattoo Removal

✔ Eyeliner Tattoo Removal

✔ Small Black or Red Body Tattoos

✔ Perfect for Cover-Ups – If you’ve had previous brow treatments and need correction or refinement, this is often the best option.

HOW DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

Book a free consultation, and let’s find the perfect solution for you

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser works by delivering extremely short pulses of light energy into the tattoo pigment beneath the skin. Rather than cutting or removing the skin itself, the laser targets the pigment, breaking it into much smaller fragments. Once these pigment particles have been shattered, your body's immune system gradually removes them through the lymphatic system over the following weeks. This natural process is why tattoo removal takes time and why treatments are usually spaced 6–8 weeks apart, allowing your skin to heal and your body to clear as much pigment as possible before your next session. The number of treatments required varies from person to person. Factors including pigment colour, tattoo age, depth, previous tattooing, previous removal attempts, scar tissue and your body's healing response all influence how quickly pigment fades.

UNDERSTANDING TATTOO PIGMENTS

Different pigments respond differently to laser treatment. Generally, black, dark brown, grey and many red pigments respond best to Nd:YAG laser technology. However, pigments containing yellow, white, green, purple or fluorescent tones often respond poorly or may not respond at all because these colours do not absorb the laser energy effectively. It is also completely normal for some pigments to temporarily change colour during the removal process before continuing to fade. This is a recognised part of laser tattoo removal and will be discussed fully during your consultation. Because every pigment is different, complete removal can never be guaranteed, and no responsible practitioner should promise otherwise.

WHEN LASER ALONE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH

Whilst laser removal is highly effective for many clients, some tattoos are more resistant than others. Older Permanent Makeup, heavily saturated tattoos, repeated procedures or pigment held within scar tissue can become increasingly difficult for laser treatment to remove. In these situations, laser may reach a point where little or no further improvement can safely be achieved. Where clinically appropriate, a manual chemical removal technique may be recommended to reduce any remaining resistant pigment. This combined approach is often the safest and most effective way of achieving the best possible outcome, particularly with difficult Permanent Makeup. Your treatment plan will always be tailored specifically to your tattoo, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

CONSULTATION

Every laser removal journey begins with a detailed consultation. Book yours today and start your journey. During your appointment Emily will assess:

• Your tattoo or Permanent Makeup

• Pigment colour and saturation

• Skin health and healing ability

• Previous tattoo or removal history

• Your treatment goals

• Your medical history

This assessment allows Emily to determine whether laser treatment is suitable, explain what results can realistically be achieved and discuss approximately how many sessions may be required. If Emily does not believe laser removal is the best option, she will advise you and discuss any suitable alternatives.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

Before attending your first appointment, you'll receive:

✔ A comprehensive Medical and Consent form

✔ Pre-Treatment Information form.

Treatment cannot proceed until your medical history and consent forms have been completed and reviewed.

These documents allow Emily to assess your suitability for treatment, identify any medical conditions or medications that may affect your treatment, ensuring laser removal can be carried out safely.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

Following every session, you'll receive an aftercare guide explaining exactly how to care for the treated area while it heals. Your aftercare information includes advice on:

• Expected healing

• Redness and swelling

• Caring for the treatment area

• Exercise and heat exposure

• Sun protection

• Swimming and skincare

• Signs of normal healing

Following your aftercare carefully plays an important role in achieving the best possible results.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT

Laser tattoo removal is a gradual process rather than a single treatment. Some clients achieve excellent fading after only a few sessions, while others require a longer course of treatment depending on the pigment used and their individual healing response. My aim is always to achieve the safest and best possible result whilst protecting the integrity of your skin. You'll receive honest advice, realistic expectations and a personalised treatment plan from your very first consultation.

WHY CHOOSE EMILY AT THE BROW HAUS & Co.

Successful tattoo removal is about far more than operating a laser.

It requires a thorough understanding of Permanent Makeup pigments, tattoo inks, skin anatomy, wound healing and how different removal techniques work together to achieve the safest possible outcome.

Rather than rushing to introduce laser removal, Emily chose a considered approach. After completing her laser training in 2024, she spent time carefully researching the technology available, selecting a medical-grade Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser that met the high standards she expects for her clients and completing additional machine-specific training before offering treatments within the clinic.

Emily has also undertaken advanced education in pigmentology, giving her a deeper understanding of how different pigment formulations behave within the skin and how they respond during the removal process. She continues to invest in ongoing professional development through advanced training, industry education and PMU conferences to ensure her knowledge remains current and her clients continue to receive the highest standard of care.

Every treatment is approached conservatively, honestly and with your long-term skin health as the priority. If laser removal is the most appropriate treatment, Emily will explain why. If another approach is likely to produce a better outcome, she’ll discuss this with you openly and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to your skin, pigment and goals.

Her goal isn’t simply to remove pigment—it’s to help you move forward with confidence, whether that’s preparing for new Permanent Makeup, improving previous work or safely reducing unwanted tattoos using the most appropriate treatment approach.

In Permanent Makeup and laser removal, knowing when not to treat is just as important as knowing how to treat. Honest advice and realistic expectations will always come before unnecessary treatments.
